Have a little faith

At Svanhalla hamn

Have a little faith... Like today with Svanhalla hamn. I woke up feeling like I wanted to make a large plein air painting (140 x 100 cm). It was sunny, and I thought the wind wouldn't be too bad. We packed up the car and drove to the location. Of course, there was still a bit of wind, but we found a sheltered spot where I could bring my ideas to life.

I set up my easel, and at the end of the pier, I had the perfect view. A sea eagle? flew away. I'm not sure, but it was enormous. Hopefully, I'll get a better view next time. Finally, I heard the high-pitched squawk of a kingfisher, I waited, and there they came... They were a lovely couple. Slowly, I'm starting to recognize Sweden and Swedish nature.

Sometimes life just asks for a spark of faith and the courage to follow your gut, even when the circumstances don't seem ideal.

Have a little faith, oil on canvas, 140 x 100 cm, 2025.

A solid foundation

For this large 140 x 100 cm canvas, I use an extra-heavy field easel. This sturdy easel provides the perfect support for creating my large-format creations. I also always carry a few handy elastic straps from Action. They're ideal for securing the easel, even on less stable surfaces. What makes these straps so special is that they're not only very strong but also flexible. This allows me to work with peace of mind, without worrying about the stability of my equipment.

Soon on display

The painting is currently dry and we've just framed it. So it's available now.
