The sun was shining brightly, there was no wind and no one around. The perfect moment for a creative outburst, I thought. But there was one unexpected challenge: big ants 🐜.

Despite the wind, I really wanted to go to Svanhalla Hamn today to paint. The many rocks, the vastness and the beautiful reed areas attract me every time, now even more so with the fresh spring green.

Yesterday I discovered a beautiful sand dune in the sun at "Flyet" in Jämjö. The green of nature, the blue-gray tones of the moss and the calming atmosphere made me feel completely at ease.

In Sweden, spring is apparently later than in the Netherlands, when I was recently back in the Netherlands, it was just summer. At least that's how it felt. But gradually it's getting greener and greener here too. Today this rapeseed field was finally blooming and of course I couldn't resist.

"Snow love" today the weather gods are with me :) lots of snow, but also with a lovely sun! Thanks to that lovely sun it was much more comfortable to make a larger work. On the path towards Torhamns Udde I found this spot in no time.

I'm back in Sweden, and this morning, as I gazed out of the window, I saw it—it was time. Snow! Like a child on Christmas morning, I couldn’t contain my excitement.
For the painters amongst us I have some great news! My very own set of brushes is finally available from the English company Rosemary & Co! I have been using these brushes for years and can only say how fantastic they are.
Hike & Paint is perhaps the best way to stay fit, and with my new U.GO 6"x 8" (small) it is even more enjoyable! This handy, compact pochade box fits perfectly in a small backpack, together with all my drawing and painting supplies.
I've already received messages from a number of colleagues with questions about my new U.GO pochade box. Coincidentally, the weather isn't all that great at the moment...
For my large plein air works, I have been using the Mabef M23 for years. This easel is strong, robust and ideal for use in various weather conditions. Thanks to its sturdy design and high-quality materials, I can continue painting even in strong winds.
